A Vancouver native, Brent was admitted to the Bar in 2001, and has successfully represented clients in Provincial Court, the British Columbia Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Brent's practice involves all areas of corporate/commercial litigation with an emphasis on creditor remedies and shareholders' disputes.

Recently, Brent successfully represented a creditor in a precedent-setting matter involving The Crown In Right of Canada's claim that its super-priority interest ranked in priority to that of Brent's client in a foreclosure proceeding. (Manastyrski v. The Crown In Right of Canada et al). Brent also defended a Director of an Alberta Company against allegations of oppression, breach of fiduciary duty and misappropriation of funds.  (Kreller et al. v. Kreller Enterprises Ltd. - Arbitration Award dated September 9, 2011).  He also successfully represented several shareholders in the British Columbia Supreme Court, the British Columbia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada in a matter relating to minority shareholder rights and the dissent provisions of the Canada Business Corporations Act. (Park v. FinancialCAD Corporation et al, 2008 BCSC 353) and (Park v. FinancialCAD Corporation et al, 2009 BCCA 7, leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada denied). Ultimately, the matter was resolved by way of a favourable settlement for Brent's clients.

In addition, Brent practices in the areas of professional errors and omissions, employment law and personal injury litigation.

Brent regularly volunteers his time to the Legal Aid Clinic and to the cause of helping to resolve the homeless problem in Vancouver.
